Dabaidang Urban Ecological Park

Dabaidang Urban Ecological Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Dabaidang Urban Ecological Park is located in the Hushuguan Development Zone, bordered by National Highway 312 to the east, Hongxi Road to the south, Datong Road to the north, and Tongxi Road to the west. The planned total area is 50 hectares, including 10 hectares of water surface. The planning is based on ecology and centered around water, integrating modern culture, ancient Wu culture, and water culture harmoniously through functional zoning. The park is divided into five major functional zones: the central ecological water area, the eastern ecological landscape zone, the southern leisure activity zone, the northern official and business activity zone, and the southwestern green buffer zone.

With water as the texture, a harmonious ecological mountain-water environment is created. The water system of Dabaidang Park connects to Yangdong River to the west, Baimajian to the south, and flows eastward into the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, linking with the green corridor extending from the Yangshan Mountain Range into the plain. The park design applies ecological purification principles. Under the existing ecological water framework, it enhances oxygen levels in the water and effectively increases habitats for wildlife by modifying the shoreline and adding floating islands and wetland fields. While improving the landscape, it also enhances water quality in the area.

A blend of modern and ancient Wu culture, highlighting water features. The scenic spots draw on Suzhou’s humanistic history and landscape characteristics, featuring waterfalls, fountains, as well as white water caltrop fields and pools. The landscape bridge adopts a white dragonbone design reflecting Suzhou style. A UFO-shaped landmark building is integrated with the ecological lakeside. Facilities such as a golf course, public activity plaza, and leisure tea house showcase the park’s comprehensive functions within a rich spatial hierarchy.

The fusion of natural ecology and landscape design. The eastern section of the park features open grassy slopes and terraces along the water, offering views of the stretching Yangshan, Dahuangshan, and Jilongshan mountains. Unobstructed sightlines and contextual design allow visitors to enjoy uninterrupted visual beauty. The park preserves the ruins of water gates and docks, and includes features such as pleasure boats, viewing platforms, tree-lined plazas, waterfront boardwalks, and splash play areas to accommodate business activities, leisure, and sightseeing needs.
