Huashan Ruins

The Huashan Ruins are a Suzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Huashan Ruins are located 3 li (approximately 1.5 km) northwest of Hushuguan Town (specifically in areas now part of Groups 3 and 4 of Huashan Village, Tong’an Town). Dating back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties, the site covers an area of 7,000 square meters. It was discovered in 1956 during a survey organized by the provincial cultural relics management committee, with a cultural layer about 1.5–2 meters thick. Collected artifacts include perforated stone axes, stone axes (yuè), stone arrowheads, triangular stone knives, chisels, adzes, round-bottomed concave jars with basket-pattern decoration, proto-porcelain bowls, tripods, as well as hard pottery fragments featuring decorative patterns such as meander-fold ruler patterns, mat patterns, and diamond patterns. This site is a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
