The Liangzhu Culture Site in Luodun Village

The Liangzhu Culture Site in Luodun Village is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located in Jiulishidun Village, Xinlong Town, on the outskirts of Changshu. This site was originally one of the ancient Wu cultural ruins. The *Changzhao Combined Chronicles* records: “Jiuli City is nine li (approximately 4.5 km) to the north (or east) of the county. It is said that the King of Wu once grazed horses here and built a city to contain them, commonly known as ‘Horse-Detaining City’.” During the village’s restoration and land plowing, over 50 earthen wells were discovered underground, with fragments of pottery remaining inside. Later, through trial excavations by the archaeological department of the Nanjing Museum, a batch of black-coated pottery jars, pottery ewers, stone axes, stone tools, pottery spinning wheels, and bone implements for making nets were unearthed from the lower layers of two of these wells. These have been identified as belonging to a Neolithic Liangzhu Culture site, dating back approximately 4,000–4,500 years.
