Xinfeng Pavilion

Xinfeng Pavilion is a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou City.

Located at the foot of Yushan Mountain in the northwest of the urban area. Originally built during the Southern Song Dynasty, it was initially named Wanghu Pavilion and renamed Xinfeng Pavilion in the Ming Dynasty. The pavilion is a two-story hexagonal structure with double eaves, featuring a delicate and graceful design. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of Yushan Mountain, Shanghu Lake, and the city, fully experiencing Changshu’s unique landscape where “mountains, water, and city blend as one.” An ancient poem praises it: “A towering pavilion stands on the cliffs, where climbing up reveals vistas wide, with thousands of fields bowing in the distance and the city’s waters winding in seven loops.” Legend has it that a dragon dwelled beneath the pavilion, and the “Xu Zhenjun Stele” inside serves as a charm to subdue it.
