Fushui Bridge

Located on Shanqiantang Pond in Sanxing Village, Dianqiao Village, outside the west gate of the urban area. Originally named Fuqing Bridge, it was renamed Fushui Bridge because it faces the Fushui Rock of Jinfeng Peak on Yushan Mountain. It is also commonly known as "Santiao Bridge" (Third Bridge) as it is the third bridge from the west on Shanqiantang Pond. The *Changshu County Private Gazetteer* compiled by Yao Zongyi during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era states: “Its official name is Fuqing, but it is commonly called Santiao Bridge.” The current bridge is a single-arch structure, oriented from north to south, built with bluestone and granite. It has an arch height of 4.6 meters, a central width of 3 meters, and an overall length of about 30 meters. The bridge pier stones are inscribed with the characters “Fuqing Bridge.” Its original construction date is unknown, but based on its stonework and design, it is believed to date back to the Ming Dynasty, with a reconstruction during the mid-Qing Dynasty. It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site of Changshu in November 1982.
