Qing Dynasty Hall in Xinfeng Lane

Located at No. 14-1, Xinfeng Lane, in the urban area, it was originally a residence of the Zeng family, later sold to the Xiong family, and built during the late Qing Dynasty. The surviving main hall faces south, features a flush gable roof, and is constructed with a brick-and-timber structure using a post-and-lintel system. It has a total width of three bays spanning 16.87 meters and a depth of seven rafters measuring 15.73 meters. The hall includes a front lean-to, wooden beams in the form of moon bridges, granite column bases, and openwork carvings on the beams. Below the main purlin, the bracket sets feature carved patterns, and there are also decorative cedar carvings and intricately crafted bracket arms. It was designated as a cultural relics protection unit of Changshu City in June 1999.
