The Jia Residence at Lüqing Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou.

The Jia Residence at Lüqing Hall

Located at No. 10 Xiaoyushutou in the urban area, it was originally the residence of the Jia family, and the hall was named “Lüqing.” It is a Qing Dynasty building, facing south with a flush gable roof, and features a brick-and-timber structure. Currently, four courtyards remain intact with undamaged frameworks and well-preserved craftsmanship. The building covers an area of approximately 560 square meters. The first and second courtyards are both single-story structures with four rooms and seven bays, with overall widths and depths of 15.2 and 5.4 meters, and 18 and 7.3 meters respectively. The third courtyard is a single-story hall with an overall width of 17.6 meters and depth of 6.6 meters, featuring a front-facing flipped eave. The fourth courtyard is a two-story small building with three rooms and seven bays, using a post-and-lintel construction method, with an overall width of 11.3 meters and depth of 6.9 meters. It uses robust materials, features bluestone column bases, carved brackets, a front porch, and a rear stone gate. It was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Changshu City in June 2004.
