Zhaoshan Bridge

Located in Duantoubang, Yuanyi Village, Yushan Town, also known as Xie Xie Bridge, it spans Xiejing and runs from east to west. It was built during the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty by Xu Shirou, a local scholar-official, and underwent multiple renovations during the Qing Dynasty. The current bridge is a single-arch structure with a ring arch constructed using the “longitudinal jointed sectional parallel” masonry technique. The bridge deck is paved with granite, while the foundation consists of stacked bluestone. It has a rise of 3.65 meters, a central width of 2.58 meters, a span of 6.3 meters, and a total length of 19.6 meters. The characters “Zhaoshan Bridge” are engraved on the arch beam. Each of the two side pillars bears the couplet: “May heaven always grant good people, may people always do good deeds.” It was designated as a Changshu Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit in June 2007.

Yuanyi Village: Yuanyi Village is adjacent to Zhaoshang City to the east and connected to Shanghu Scenic Area to the north, with the Shanghai–Yixing Highway passing through the village.
