The Feng Shiru Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by the Suzhou Municipal Government.

The Feng Shiru Residence is located on Beijie Street in Meili, facing east with its back to the west. It is a typical example of Qing Dynasty architecture in the Jiangnan region, covering a total area of over 800 square meters. According to Feng Dong?, the fourth-generation descendant of the Feng family, the residence belonged to his great-grandfather, Feng Shiru. The Feng family’s ancestors raised pigs along the river on Xijie Street, but by Feng Shiru’s time, they had purchased two old houses on Beijie Street, and later gradually expanded the adjacent buildings on Beilu, forming the current structure. In 2016, the Meili Town government carried out an ownership transfer of the residence, and renovation work began in May 2017, taking five months to complete.
