The Xinzhuang Anti-Japanese Bunker Cluster is located in Huaxin Village and Hetai Village, Xinzhuang Town. Originally consisting of four bunkers, three remain today (one in Hetai Village and two in Huaxin Village). All three bunkers share the same construction style: they are made of reinforced concrete, measuring approximately 5 meters in length, 4 meters in width, 3 meters in height, and about 50 centimeters in thickness. All are built adjacent to rivers, with square firing holes facing the riverbanks, and small doors on the back, 1.8 meters high and 0.8 meters wide, for personnel access. Research indicates that these three bunkers were constructed in 1935 by a unit of the 36th Division of the Nationalist Army, and later guarded by the 88th Division of the Nationalist Army. They are among the more significant military structures from the Anti-Japanese War period in the Changshu area, holding important value for the study of both the region’s wartime history and military architecture. They were designated as municipal-level cultural heritage sites in June 2011.

Huaxin Village: Huaxin Village is located east of the Xinzhuang Town center, enjoying a geographically advantageous position with highly convenient land and water transportation. It borders Xiangcheng District of Suzhou to the east and south, and adjoins Hetai Village of Xinzhuang Town to the north. After two rounds of village administrative mergers, it now encompasses the former areas of Nandai Village, Zhaodong Village, Zhaojun Village, and Luobang Village.
