Located at No. 36 Zijin Street in the urban area, it is a building from the Republican era. The Changshu County Office of the "Bureau of Investigation and Statistics" was established in September 1945 as the Kuomintang's intelligence organization in Changshu and moved to this location in February 1946. In addition to the director and supervisors, the office included divisions such as general affairs, training, intelligence, investigation, and a guard squad. It had subordinate centers in Shazhou, Dayi, Liantang, Hupu, Zhitang, Xitangqiao, and Nanmen, as well as branches in Dongmen within the urban area, Fushan, and Dongtangshi, among others. These units were extensively involved in intelligence gathering and activities to undermine revolutionary organizations. It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage conservation unit in June 2011.
