The former site of Deyilou is a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou City.

Former Site of Deyilou

Located at the junction of Junzilon and Nanxin Street in the urban area, it was built by the Zou family from this locality during the Republic of China period in the 1920s and 1930s. The structure is a three-story brick-and-wood building. On the side facing Junzilon Street, the total width spans three bays, measuring 11.7 meters, while on the side facing Nanxin Street, it spans five bays, measuring 19.7 meters. The building covers an area of approximately 320 square meters. The words “Deyilou” (Pleasure Tower) in large characters are engraved on the northeast corner of the building. After the liberation, it was renovated, and the current facade structure is newly built. It was designated as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit in June 2009. In 2014, it underwent comprehensive dismantling and major repairs.
