Tomb of the Two Righteous Men

The Tomb of the Two Righteous Men is located on the south side of Sili Street at the northern foot of Yushan Mountain. The tombs face east and are situated side by side, covering an area of approximately 45 square meters. Each mound has a diameter of about 4.5 meters and a height of 1.4 meters, surrounded by a brick-laid enclosing wall. In front of the mounds stands a granite memorial tower erected in April 1947, standing 2.5 meters tall in total, inscribed with “Memorial Tower for the Two Righteous Men Who Died in the Line of Duty Fighting a Fire.” The two righteous men were Zhu Sanshan (1911–1936) and Liu Yaodong (1913–1936). They were volunteer firefighters in the northeastern urban district during the Republican era and died in the line of duty while fighting a fire at a cardboard factory on Xin County Qian on November 4, 1936. This tomb was designated as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit on November 17, 1982.
