No. 13 Caodang (Yang Residence) is a Suzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

No. 13 Caodang (Yang Residence)

Located on Caodang Street in the urban area, it faces south and was built in the early 1930s. Constructed of brick and stone, it is a typical building from the Republican era. Originally the residence of the Yang family, it now serves as the Fangta Office of Yushan Town Government. The entire structure consists of two courtyards arranged in a “回” (hui) character layout. The first courtyard is a three-story mixed-style building; the second courtyard and the buildings on its east and west sides are all two-story structures, with a total width of 25.9 meters and a depth of 55.8 meters, covering a construction area of approximately 790 square meters. Both the ground floor and the second floor are connected by corridors, and spiral staircases are located on both sides of the entrance. The interior features suspended ceilings adorned with various carved patterns. This building was designated as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit on June 18, 2004.
