Located in Sijingqiao Village, Xushi Town, Dongbang Town, it was originally a residence of the Xu family, featuring an original five-courtyard layout. Today, four single-story rooms remain (including a single-side wing room on the east), facing south with a gable-and-hip roof. The structure spans 13.7 meters in width and 7.7 meters in depth over seven bays, with an eave height of 3.1 meters. It was identified as the former site of the founding meeting of the People's Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Committee of Changshu County during the city's 1984 cultural relics survey. On August 2, 1940, the first representative conference of the People's Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Committee of Changshu County was held near Zhoujiaqiao in Wushi. After a day of meetings, it was continued here. The conference elected a leadership body with Ren Tianshi as the chairman of the Executive Committee and Li Jianmo as the chairman of the Supervisory Committee. This was the first people's government in Changshu’s history and also the earliest county-level anti-Japanese democratic government in southern Jiangsu. Tan Zhenlin, head of the New Fourth Army’s “Jiang Kang” East Route Command, attended the meeting. It was designated as a municipal cultural relics protection unit on August 31, 1989.
