Shen Residence on Dongsheng Street

Located in Dabudao Lane on Chengqu Street, it faces south with a north orientation, features a brick-and-wood structure, and has a flush gable roof, making it an architectural relic from the Qing Dynasty. Currently, it consists of three courtyards and four gardens, covering a total built-up area of 706.35 square meters. The first and second courtyards are both single-story buildings with three bays, with overall widths of 11.9 and 11.3 meters respectively, and overall depths of 17.4 and 11.9 meters. The third courtyard is a two-story building with four bays, connected to the second courtyard by a corridor, and has an overall width and depth of 18.8 and 10.2 meters respectively. The three courtyards feature exquisite carvings on their eaves, beams, brackets, and stone bases. It was designated as a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Changshu in June 2009.
