The riverside park serves as the backyard of the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center and a key public dispersal area.

Adhering to the vision of fitness for all, it introduces the leisure sports concept by integrating the dynamic and smooth design of modern sports along the Century Axis with the natural and elegant ambiance of the waterfront culture along the Riverside Axis, striving to create an environment lighting that reflects “harmonious coexistence between people, the era, and nature.”

The Fishermen’s Wharf has been completed, featuring existing dining venues such as Rong Club’s Jinxuan Restaurant, Jinling Riverside International Convention Center Hotel, and Riverside Garden Hotel;

Activity Area – Fish Viewing & Fishing, Dining & Entertainment

Stretching from Hexi Avenue to Olympic Sports Avenue, the area covers approximately 435 acres. It offers a series of open public activities, including Yangtze River cruises, fish viewing & fishing, and dining & entertainment. Among them, the most eye-catching attraction is the 14,000-square-meter Fishermen’s Wharf, soon to become a large-scale waterfront service facility integrating dining, bars, and tea houses. Sitting by the Yangtze River while enjoying tea, meals, or drinks, with the bustling riverside scenery before you, is a uniquely delightful experience.

Leisure Area – Waterfront Platforms, Wetland Park

Spanning from Olympic Sports Avenue to Mengdu Avenue, this 590-acre section serves as the leisure area of Hexi Riverside Park. By reshaping the original terrain and landscaping the waterfront, the flood control wall has been transformed into a wetland park, complemented by river-viewing platforms. Notably, the leisure area also houses a “relic from the past” – the Sun Palace. This “Sun Palace” is not the water park many may be familiar with, but rather a timber trading hub from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Today, only an old building and two vintage pavilions remain. After renovation and expansion, the site preserves the original historic structures across a 20,000+ square-meter area.

Cultural Area – Themed Parks, Sculpture Garden

As the cultural and sports axis connecting the Olympic Sports Center venues with the riverside scenic belt — also known as the cultural area of Hexi Riverside Park — this section covers about 180 acres. Its design includes three themed parks: “Three Mountains,” “Two Waters,” and “Egrets,” along with eight sculpture gardens.
