Amber Spring is situated in Yongning Town, Pukou District, next to Laoshan Mountain and the provincial-level Pearl Spring Tourist Resort, only 8 kilometers away from downtown Nanjing. At present, Nanjing has three hot springs—Tangshan, Tangquan, and Amber Springs—of which Amber Spring is the only undeveloped “virgin spring.” The spring water is cool and fresh, containing a wealth of substances beneficial to human health and medical care. With a year-round temperature of 22°C and a flow rate of 0.4 cubic meters per second, it is considered a medium-temperature hot spring with high development potential. According to reports, the Amber Spring Hot Spring Leisure Resort project is expected to have a total investment of over 1.5 billion yuan and has attracted participation from strong domestic and international tourism groups. Once completed, it will become a top-tier hot spring tourist resort center in East China and even across the country.

Amber Spring is the only undeveloped virgin spring among the three hot springs in Nanjing (Tangshan Hot Spring, Tangquan Hot Spring, and Amber Hot Spring), making it a rare and valuable resource in the city. The spring has an average daily natural discharge of 3,000 tons, peaking at 7,000 tons in the most productive years. The year-round water temperature at the spring mouth reaches above 45°C, and drilling deeper wells can yield temperatures of around 60°C. It contains a variety of mineral components beneficial to human health. The current water surface area has reached 220 acres and can be expanded to approximately 500 acres. Moreover, the side of the spring eye features undulating hills that connect to the “Ten-Thousand-Mile Great Wall” tourist spot at Pearl Spring, offering a total developable area of about 4,620 acres. The location benefits from convenient transportation, no pollution, high potential for renovation, and significant room for development, making it highly likely to succeed in terms of development and operation. Well-developed, Amber Spring would complement the nearby Nanjing Pearl Spring Scenic Area and play a crucial role in boosting the tourism industry of Pukou District.
