The Former Site of Pukou Power Plant is a municipal cultural relics protection unit in Nanjing.

Former Site of Pukou Power Plant [Taishan Subdistrict, Pukou District, Matou Neighborhood Committee, No. 5 Damalu · 1923 · Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit] In the 12th year of the Republic of China (1923), the Pukou Electric Power Plant of the Jinpu Railway Bureau was completed, equipped with one 1,000-kilowatt three-phase AC generator and one 200-kilowatt AC generator, with a voltage of 6.6 kilovolts and a frequency of 50 hertz. Trial operation began in April of the 13th year of the Republic of China (1924), and regular power supply to the Puzhen Locomotive Works and the railway commenced in July. In 1928, power started being supplied to residents of Puzhen and Pukou. From September 1932 to April 1933, power was supplied to areas south of the Yangtze River using 13.2-kilovolt cables. In 1951, the Pukou Electric Power Plant ceased power generation. Three buildings from the Republican era still remain. The first is the power plant workshop, which has served as a railway workers’ club, factory space, and hotel; it underwent seismic reinforcement externally and renovation internally. The eastern and western sections belong to different railway units; it is 41 meters long, 19.2 meters wide in the west and 25.6 meters wide in the east, 13 meters high, with a total area of 870 square meters. The second is a two-story building, 20 meters wide, 20 meters long, and about 10 meters high. The third is a single-story house, 13 meters long, 8.9 meters wide, and 6 meters high. It was designated as a municipal cultural relics protection unit in 2012.

Matou Community: Matou Community was formed in October 2008 through the merger of the former Port, Henan Street, and North Station communities. It is located in the southern part of Taishan Subdistrict, stretching from Nanjing Port Company No. 2 in the east, bordering the Yangtze River to the south, reaching Nanjing Shengliwei Aquaculture Farm in the west, and adjacent to Dingshan Subdistrict in the north, covering a total area of 2.6 square kilometers. It has 2,773 permanent resident households, with a total population of 6,464, 110 floating households, 9 military families, 131 people with disabilities, 170 households under social subsistence allowance, and 167 community party members.
