Caowang Chengzi Ancient Cultural Site is a Nanjing Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Caowang Chengzi Ancient Cultural Site [150 meters southwest of Tanjia Group, Shuangqiao Village, Qiaolin Subdistrict • Zhou Dynasty • Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit] covers an area of approximately 19,000 square meters, with a height of about 7 meters and a cultural layer about 5 meters thick. It was discovered in 1958. In 1983, a trial excavation of 20 square meters was carried out, and the archaeological excavation results were published in Southeast Culture, Issue 2, 1985. The site yielded a large number of coarse red pottery shards and coarse gray pottery shards from the Western Zhou period, as well as a small number of fine gray pottery shards, fine red pottery shards, fine black pottery shards, and geometric patterned pottery shards. The artifacts included li tripods, ? (unidentified vessel), basins, dou stem-cups, and bowls, among which the li tripods often featured sunken partitions. Bronze knives were also found, along with the foundation of a house. Artifacts from the Spring and Autumn period included coarse red pottery shards, coarse gray pottery shards, a small number of fine gray pottery shards, fine red pottery shards, fine black pottery shards, and a larger quantity of hard geometric-patterned pottery. The vessels comprised li tripods, basins, jars, dou stem-cups, ? (unidentified vessel), pottery ? (unidentified vessel), and small cups, all belonging to Zhou cultural remains. In 1983, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit, and in 1992, it was listed as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.
