The Mopan Mountain Ancient Cultural Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing City.

The Mopan Mountain Ancient Cultural Site [450m northeast of Shanhou Group, Shuangwei Village, Yongning Town  �  Zhou Dynasty  �  District-level Cultural Relics Protection] covers an area of approximately 8,800 square meters, with a height of about 5 meters and a cultural layer about 2 meters thick. It was discovered in 1982. Artifacts unearthed include sand-tempered red pottery li tripods, ?, clay bowls, dou vessels, jars, as well as fragments of geometric-patterned pottery and bronze arrowheads. These relics belong to the Zhou culture. In 1983, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit, and in 2002, it was listed as a district-level cultural relics protection unit.

Yongning Subdistrict: Yongning Subdistrict is located at the northern foot of Laoshan Mountain, in the hinterland of the Chuhe River, bordering Nanjing High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to the east and Anhui’s Chuzhou to the north. It governs 18 village (residential) committees and 180 villager groups, covering a total area of 115.5 square kilometers with a population of 46,000.

The subdistrict enjoys convenient location and transportation, with National Highway 104 and the Ningchu Provincial Road passing through it, while the Ninghuai Expressway is set to open soon. It also has two railways — the Ningqi and the Jinpu — and construction on the Ningxi Railway is about to begin.
