Ruins of the Jinwang Pagoda [Taishan Subdistrict, Pukou District, Liuzhou Community, Baota Mountain · Ming Dynasty · District-level Cultural Relics Protection Unit] The ruins of the Jinwang Pagoda are located on Baota Mountain, which was originally called Taoye Mountain. At the foot of the mountain there was once a river crossing called “Taoye Ferry,” where legend says the great calligrapher Wang Xianzhi once saw off his beloved concubine, Taoye. In the eighth and ninth years of the Kaihuang era (588–589) during the Sui Dynasty, Prince Yang Guang of Jin raised an army to attack the Chen Dynasty and built a fortress here, stationing troops for two years. As a result, Taoye Mountain was also called Jinwang Mountain. In the early Ming Dynasty, to commemorate the Jin prince’s military presence, a Jinwang Shrine and Jinwang Pagoda were built on the mountain. During the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty, the Jinwang Shrine was destroyed in war. The Jinwang Pagoda had five stories and was built of brick and wood; its wooden interior structures were damaged first in the conflicts. The brick tower body was later blown up by - army forces in April 1949, leaving only the base. The base is hexagonal in shape, with a remaining height of 2 meters. Because there was once a pagoda on the mountain, locals commonly referred to Jinwang Mountain as Baota Mountain, and the name has endured to this day. In 1983, it was designated as a district-level cultural relics protection unit.

Liuzhou Community: Liuzhou Community was formed in June 2009 through the merger of the original Liuzhou Community (formerly Shuanglong Village) and Baota Community. It is located at Nanjing’s northern gateway, by the Yangtze River and at the foot of the Yangtze River Bridge, at the intersection of National Highway 312 and the Ninghe Expressway, offering convenient transportation. The area includes newly developed residential communities such as Xuri Huating, Jincheng Lijing, Overseas Chinese Town, Zhongpu Jiayuan, Pudong Garden, Taishan Garden, and Tianrun City, as well as residential groups currently undergoing demolition and resettlement. The total area is approximately 5.5 square kilometers, with a population of over 10,000.
