Furong Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a National Water Conservancy Scenic Area.

Furong Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in Jiangyin City, Wuxi, built upon the Majiawei Water Conservancy Project. The scenic area spans 10 square kilometers, with water bodies covering 3.5 square kilometers, and is classified as a natural river and lake-type water conservancy scenic area.

Majiawei is an ancient water conservancy project based on the river and canal network characteristic of the Jiangnan water town, centered around Majiawei River, and laid out in a “丰” (abundant) character-shaped drainage pattern. In recent years, through a series of projects such as water system connectivity, pollution control and interception, river dredging, sewage pipeline construction, and wastewater treatment plant development, the water quality of the canals has been greatly improved. This not only ensures flood drainage and water safety for the scenic area and surrounding regions, but also provides a solid foundation for effective water resource supply and healthy aquatic ecological environment in the scenic area.
