Located in Jiangyin City, Junshan Park has long been a blessed site where Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism coexisted harmoniously. Its magnificent Buddhist temples and palaces have stood for centuries, with ancient shrines enjoying thriving incense offerings. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Gao Daosu, an official from the Ministry of Works, extensively collected Buddhist scriptures and was the first to compile and carve the names of the Five Hundred Arhats, inscribing them on stone tablets. Since then, every temple across China that built a Hall of Five Hundred Arhats used these names and statues as a reference, leading to the saying that the “Names of the Five Hundred Arhats” originated in Jiangyin. The current “Five Hundred Arhats Relief Wall” stretches 60 meters in length and stands over 4 meters high on average. These arhats vary in size, are arranged in a dynamic composition, and are exquisitely lifelike in diverse poses, making it the finest of its kind in China.

In ancient times, Junshan Park referred to an official garden, while today it generally denotes a public area developed and managed by the government as a natural scenic zone for public leisure and recreation. Such parks serve functions such as improving urban ecology, fire prevention, and providing shelter. Modern parks are cherished for their tranquil environment and cool retreats from summer heat, becoming sacred gathering spots for couples, the elderly, and children alike. Countless stories unfold within these green spaces, making them another hub for human emotions, hence why many books, movies, and TV series choose parks as their backdrop.

Chengjiang Subdistrict: Located in the downtown area of Jiangyin City, Chengjiang Subdistrict is home to the municipal Party committee and government, serving as the political, economic, and cultural center of the city. It covers a total area of 124.3 square kilometers (including the Chengdong New District Office), governs 49 community committees and 22 village committees, and had a registered population of 229,403 and a migrant population of 108,458 by the end of 2008.
