Jiangyin Xingguo Temple Pagoda

Jiangyin Xingguo Temple Pagoda is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Xingguo Pagoda is located within Xingguo Park in the downtown area. It is a pavilion-style, brick-and-wood structure with closely layered eaves, and is the only surviving Song Dynasty pagoda in Jiangyin. Originally built during the Taiping Xingguo era of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was initially a seven-story stupa of the Taiping Xingguo Buddhist Temple. During the Ming Dynasty, it was expanded to nine stories, and it has a history of over a thousand years. The existing pagoda has eight stories remaining, stands 42.22 meters tall, has a base diameter of 10.70 meters, and each side at the base is 4.54 meters wide. The sections below the sixth story remain original structures from the Song Dynasty.

Chengjiang Subdistrict: Located in the central urban area of Jiangyin, Chengjiang Subdistrict is the seat of the Jiangyin Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, as well as the political, economic, and cultural center of the city. It covers a total area of 124.3 square kilometers (including the New Town East Office), and governs 49 community neighborhood committees and 22 village committees. By the end of 2008, it had a registered population of 229,403 and a migrant population of 108,458.
