Former Site of the Kuomintang Fortress Command

The Former Site of the Kuomintang Fortress Command is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

- The former site of the Fortress Command is situated at the junction of Renmin Middle Road and Gaoxiang Road in the city center, spanning 3,800 square meters. It features a brick-and-wood structure that blends Chinese and Western styles, and was originally a classical residence built in 1917 by Wu Tinglu, a patriotic industrialist and democratic figure from Jiangyin. In 1947, the Jiangyin Fortress Command was established here. In 2004, the "Jiangyin Fortress Battle Exhibition" was designed and installed. By 2007, the site added the "Jiangyin Celebrities Hall," showcasing the stories of 232 distinguished figures from the region, making it a perfect fusion of Chinese and Western architectural elements.

Chengjiang Subdistrict: Chengjiang Subdistrict is located in the urban core of Jiangyin and serves as the seat of the Jiangyin Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, as well as the political, economic, and cultural center of the city. It covers a total area of 124.3 square kilometers (including the New Town East Subdistrict), and governs 49 community committees and 22 village committees. By the end of 2008, it had a registered population of 229,403 and a migrant population of 108,458.
