Rhinoceros Belt Bridge

The Rhinoceros Belt Bridge is located to the west of Gushan Street. Built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the bridge is a single-arch circular stone structure, with a total length of 16.9 meters, a top height of 10.2 meters, a clear span of 7.6 meters, and 22 stone steps. The four corner pillars at the top of the bridge are carved with stone lions, each with a unique and lifelike expression. At the center of the bridge’s top is a “water whirl” relief that serves as a protective charm for the bridge, depicting two dragons playing with a pearl. The Rhinoceros Belt Bridge spans the Nantang River, and its arched opening blends seamlessly with the clear river water, resembling a mirror hanging in the sky and a rainbow suspended above.
