Huaxi Village Museum

The Huaxi Village Museum is located in the beautifully landscaped Huaxi Park. It covers an area of approximately 10,000 square meters. The main exhibition hall is built at a 1:1 scale based on the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the Palace of Heavenly Purity from Beijing’s Forbidden City, incorporating classic architectural elements such as the corner towers and red walls. The museum houses sections including a calligraphy and painting gallery, an ancient ceramics exhibition area, and a fine arts and crafts exhibition area, preserving and displaying masterpieces of calligraphy and paintings by renowned national figures, ancient ceramics, as well as over ten thousand pieces of carvings, jade artifacts, and embroidery works by top-level national arts and crafts masters. On November 28, 2012, the “Huaxi Village Museum” was completed and opened to the public.

Huashi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Jiangyin City. During the Song and Yuan dynasties, it was a local cotton market, once called Huashi. In 1949, it was named Huashu Town; in 1957, Huashu Township was established; in 1958, it was changed to a commune; in 1962, it reverted to Huashu Town; in 1965, it was renamed Huashi Town; in 1984, it became a township again; and in 1985, it was re-established as a town. Located in the southeastern part of the city, it is 25 kilometers from downtown Jiangyin and 46 kilometers from downtown Wuxi. The town covers an area of 46 square kilometers with a population of 58,000. Chenglu Road runs east-west through the town center, connecting to Hualu Road and Huaxi Road, while the Qinqing River flows east-west through the middle of the town.
