Huaxi Urban Agriculture Demonstration Park

The Huaxi Urban Agriculture Demonstration Park has a total planned area of 12,700 mu, with an intended investment of 530 million yuan. It mainly consists of: a horticulture center, pollution-free vegetables and fruits, livestock and aquaculture, flowers and seedlings, as well as rice, wheat, and oilseed bases.

The main cultivated crops include over 200 varieties of distinctive southern and northern vegetables and fruit trees such as pumpkins, watermelons, melons, cucumbers, gourds, snake gourds, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, as well as bananas, pineapples, mangoes, sugar apples, citrus, sweet oranges, pomelos, kumquats, guavas, star fruits, longans, lychees, passion fruit, papayas, jujubes, loquats, and bayberries.

The demonstration park creates a vibrant green space, a diverse agricultural theme park, and a spectacular world of technology through its rich variety of crops, colorful flowering and fruiting plants, auspiciously shaped melon trellises, bountiful greenhouse landscapes, Jiangnan-style farmhouse courtyards, and grand, orderly sightseeing corridors. It serves as a modern ecological agricultural leisure destination integrating production, science education, sightseeing, recreation, and dining.

Huashi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Jiangyin City. During the Song and Yuan dynasties, it was a local cotton market, once called Huashi. In 1949, it was named Huashu Town, became Huashu Township in 1957, was reorganized as a commune in 1958, reverted to Huashu Town in 1962, renamed Huashi Town in 1965, changed back to township in 1984, and re-established as a town in 1985. Located in the southeastern part of the city, it is 25 kilometers from downtown Jiangyin and 46 kilometers from downtown Wuxi.
