Civilization Square

Civilization Square is situated on Chengjiang Middle Road in the city center. The 16.8-meter-tall sculpture, designed with the ancient oracle bone script character for "civilization," boasts a classic and refined aesthetic. Three fountains are set in a tripod-like formation, creating a dazzling display of water patterns illuminated by colorful lights and synchronized with music at night. On the eastern side of the central area, there is a sunken plaza adorned with a mural wall consisting of 35 paintings from Xu Xiake’s Travel Diaries, showcasing the unique cultural and historical heritage of Jiangyin. Civilization Square has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists to relax, sightsee, and explore.

Chengjiang Subdistrict: Located in the downtown area of Jiangyin, Chengjiang Subdistrict is home to the municipal Party committee and government offices, serving as the political, economic, and cultural hub of the city. Covering a total area of 124.3 square kilometers (including the new Chengdong Subdistrict Office), it governs 49 community residential committees and 22 village committees. By the end of 2008, it had a registered population of 229,403 and a migrant population of 108,458.
