The Tomb of Yang Mingshi is a protected cultural heritage site of Jiangyin City.

Tomb of Yang Mingshi (Jiangyin Municipal Protected Site), located on the small square west of Building 26 in the South Residential Community, Wending Yi Village, Wending Community, Chengjiang Subdistrict, Jiangyin City, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. Admission is free, and parking is free.

Yang Mingshi, styled Binshi and also known as Ningzhai, was born in 1661 in the eastern gate area of Jiangyin. He became a successful candidate in the imperial examination in the 30th year of the Kangxi reign (1691) and earned the high regard of chief examiner Li Guangdi, under whom he studied the classics and deepened his scholarly attainments. In 1717, he was appointed as the Circuit Intendant of Zhili (modern-day Hebei), where he reformed long-standing malpractices and achieved notable administrative results. In 1719, he was transferred to serve as the Provincial Administration Commissioner of Guizhou. In the third year of the Yongzheng reign (1725), he was promoted to Minister of War and appointed as the Governor-General of Yunnan and Guizhou. In 1726, he was transferred to be the Minister of Personnel but continued to oversee the duties of the Governor-General as well. Upon the accession of Emperor Qianlong, he was summoned to the capital due to his integrity and uprightness, and was granted the additional title of Minister of Rites while concurrently serving as the Supervisor of the Imperial College (Guozijian) and instructing at both the Upper Study (Shangshufang) and the Southern Study (Nanshufang) within the palace, attending to the Emperor… More detailed information about Yang Mingshi++
