Fuzhou Road Cultural Street is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Fuzhou Road is located near People's Square and runs parallel to Nanjing Road as an east-west street. It is also one of the earliest roads built in the former concessions. Stretching 1,453 meters from Zhongshan East First Road in the east to Middle Tibet Road in the west, Fuzhou Road was completed in 1864. It was one of the four dirt roads leading from the concession area to the Huangpu River after Shanghai’s opening as a port, and is hailed as the “No. 1 Street of Chinese Culture.” The Fuzhou Road Cultural Street is nationally renowned for selling a wide variety of cultural goods and exuding a strong cultural atmosphere. There are currently over a hundred different types of commercial outlets here, including famous specialty bookstores such as China Science and Technology Book Company, Foreign Languages Bookstore, Ancient Books Bookstore, and Shanghai Music Bookstore. Among them, Shanghai Book City is currently the largest comprehensive bookstore in Shanghai, offering 150,000 types of books, audiovisual products, and electronic publications from more than 800 publishing institutions nationwide.

The area also hosts numerous cultural supply bookstores and publishing house branches. Stores selling office supplies include HSBC Paper, Changzheng Surveying and Mapping Instrument Store, and Shanghai Paper Goods Store. Those dealing in cultural supplies include Yang Zhenhua Pen Shop, Baixin Cultural Supplies Company, Meilihua Stationery Company, and Shanghai Art Supplies Store. Transportation options include Metro Lines 1 and 2, as well as bus routes 18, 925, and 936.
