Bugao Li

Bugao Li is a protected historical site in Shanghai.

Bugao Li is located at the intersection of South Shaanxi Road and West Jianguo Road in Luwan District. It is a typical example of an old-style Shanghai lane residential complex, built in 1930 by a French company when the area was part of the former French Concession. The complex consists of 78 two-story brick-and-wood Shikumen buildings, forming a complete lane neighborhood layout. The Chinese-style archway at the entrance of the lane is particularly distinctive.
