Shanghai Nanyuan Park

Nanyuan Park is located at 800 Longhua East Road, covering an area of 15,838 square meters. The site was originally the former location of the Quanzhang Guild Hall, a gathering place for fellow townsmen from southern Fujian, commonly known as Nanyuan. In the late 1920s, Quanzhang Middle School was established here, which once served as an underground activity site for the Chinese Communist Party. In April 1957, the city's garden management office converted the site into a park, which opened to the public on October 15 of the same year, retaining its common name. In September 1960, the park was closed to the public. Reconstruction resumed in October 1963, and the park reopened for the second time on June 1, 1964, implementing a ticketed entry system.

The main attractions of Nanyuan Park include: a circular flower bed and a small mushroom-shaped pavilion. There is also a 53-square-meter corridor with a small pond in front and wisteria planted nearby. To the south is a waterside pavilion covering 28 square meters. The park also features a goldfish pond with water lilies. There are approximately 2,400 trees in the park, including major arbor species such as palms, magnolia, podocarpus, dragon juniper, black pine, metasequoia, and silk tree, along with abundant shrubs such as waxleaf ligustrum, oleander, and hibiscus.

Take the one-way Route 1212 and get off at Longhua East Road & Furun Road, then walk 37 meters.
