Shanghai Liyuan Park

Liyuan Park stretches from Jumen Road in the east to Mengzi Road in the west, and from Mengzi East Road in the north to Liyuan Road in the south, covering an area of approximately 17,000 square meters. The site was originally dominated by simple houses and had a poor surrounding environment. In response to the municipal government’s call for “residents to have access to public green spaces of over 3,000 square meters within 500 meters of their homes,” and to support Shanghai’s bid to become a National Garden City, the district government invested significant effort and funds totaling 260 million yuan (including 14 million yuan allocated for greening projects), relocating 543 households and 28 businesses. The area has been transformed into a green space integrating leisure, fitness, and science education.
