The Former Site of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Former Site of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea is a Shikumen-style building located on Madang Road, constructed in 1925. After the March 1st Movement in Korea, the Provisional Government relocated several times before settling here in 1926, when Kim Gu served as the Premier (equivalent to President). In 1932, due to the arrest of members of the Provisional Government by Japanese authorities, they evacuated Shanghai. However, it is the longest-functioning and best-preserved "former site" of the Provisional Government in Shanghai. The site was officially opened to the public in 1993 and has hosted three Korean presidents and three speakers of the National Assembly. It is referred to as the "shrine of Korea’s national independence movement."
