Shanghai Taipingqiao Park

Taipingqiao Park is located on Zi Zhong Road in Luwan District, Shanghai, covering an area of 44,054 square meters. It is one of the large-scale open parks in the central urban area of Shanghai. The park features a man-made lake, green spaces, Shikumen buildings, viewing platforms, and lakeside paths.

Taipingqiao Park is an outstanding example of early 21st-century Chinese park design and is part of the Xintiandi project, which combines 52 hectares of commercial and residential development. The park integrates modern architecture with the unique charm of old Shanghai, aiming to create a modern, open, and green integrated community. The green space spans 44,000 square meters and is located at the heart of the entire Taipingqiao development.

The park is planted with tall trees and features low-rise landscapes to provide resting areas. At its center lies the largest man-made lake in downtown Shanghai, covering 12,000 square meters. A large fountain stands in the middle of the lake, while two small islands named “Magnolia Island” and “Albizia Island” adorn the eastern and western ends. The surrounding greenery undulates in height and is planted with various trees and shrubs. To the north of the green space, a new 1,200-meter-long lakeside path has been created, curving gracefully along the artificial lake and connecting seamlessly with the Shikumen-style architecture of Xintiandi Plaza to the west, forming a unique new landmark in the city center.
