The Tao Fen Memorial Hall is a municipal cultural heritage site and a patriotic education base in Shanghai.

The Tao Fen Memorial Hall is a personality-based memorial museum established on the foundation of Tao Fen’s former residence. Its mission is to commemorate and honor Mr. Tao Fen, study and promote his ideologies, and carry forward the Tao Fen spirit. In 1956, the construction of the Tao Fen Memorial Hall was approved by the Ministry of Culture. It was officially completed and opened to the public on November 5, 1958. The name of the hall was inscribed by Mr. Shen Junru.

Located at Nos. 53 and 54, Lane 205, Chongqing South Road (Wanyi Fang, built in 1929), the Tao Fen Memorial Hall consists of two modern-style shikumen buildings. The entire complex covers an area of 240 square meters, with a building area of 354 square meters, including two sections: Tao Fen’s former residence and an exhibition on his life and achievements. The exhibition in No. 53 is divided into eight parts, displayed from the first to the second floor. Through photos, texts, and artifacts, it introduces the brilliant life of Zou Taofen—from his youth through numerous twists and struggles—until he became an outstanding journalist, political commentator, and publisher. It also showcases how the Party, the state, and the people mourned and commemorated him after his passing. No. 54, the former residence, retains its original appearance from the 1930s and was where the Tao family lived from 1930 to 1936. On May 26, 1959, the former residence was designated as a municipal cultural heritage site by the Shanghai Municipal Government. It has since been listed as a municipal key cultural heritage site, a municipal youth education base, and a municipal patriotic education base.

The Tao Fen Memorial Hall has published several books, including the "Approaching Tao Fen" series, "Management of Cause and Professional Cultivation," three volumes of "Zou Tao Fen Studies," "Tao Fen’s Manuscripts," the "Commemorative Album for the 110th Anniversary of Tao Fen’s Birth," and "50 Years of the Tao Fen Memorial Hall." It has also hosted numerous academic seminars and symposiums. The museum offers free access to various related books and souvenirs.
