Changle Road

Changle Road in Shanghai, China (spanning the former Luwan, Xuhui, and Jing'an districts) was the road's name between 1914 and 1943, an important east-west street in the former French Concession of Shanghai. In old Shanghai, Changle Road was called Bashi Road — a road filled with people, stories, and history. From literati to politicians, from Wang Jingwei to Eileen Chang and Qian Zhongshu, these names were all once closely associated with this Bashi Road. Even today, Changle Road remains full of charm and stories.
