Built in 1903, the Old Field Police Station consisted of four buildings enclosed by high walls fitted with barbed wire and electrified fences. It was used as a prison by British imperialist colonizers and the reactionary Kuomintang to detain patriots and revolutionaries. Many outstanding Chinese individuals, including Ouyang Li’an, Rou Shi, Yin Fu, Hu Yepin, and Feng Keng, were once imprisoned here.

The former site of the Old Field Police Station is now located within the Shanghai Commercial Vocational and Technical School, featuring hundreds of square meters of original prison cells and exhibition rooms. It is open to the public free of charge.
