Harbin Datudingzi Mountain

Datudingzi Mountain is located in the southeast of Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province, 170 kilometers from Wuchang City and bordering Hailin City, also in Heilongjiang. With its main peak standing at an elevation of 1,690 meters, it is the highest peak within Heilongjiang, 141 meters taller than Mount Tai and 184 meters shorter than Mount Huang, and is ???:’s rising star. The area features ???:’s first wonder, with cliffs over 1,000 meters high and the deepest part reaching approximately 1,000 meters. It is home to Longjiang’s No. 1 Thousand-Foot Waterfall, which has a drop of a thousand feet, located on the eastern foothills of Datudingzi Mountain, also known as Tongtian River in its infancy.

True to its name, Datudingzi Mountain is shaped like a “steamed bun.” Its summit is a flat expanse with almost no trees—only low-growing grasses and flowers—making it a treasure trove of alpine flora and a cradle for wildlife. Once you reach the top, the forest disappears, the clouds lie beneath your feet, and the birch trees that grow at high altitudes fade into the background, becoming mere accents among the flowers. The sky suddenly opens up, and the mountain ranges stretch out below. Climbing Datudingzi Mountain requires strong willpower and physical endurance; it takes about eight hours to hike to the summit. Datudingzi Mountain is a great destination for sightseeing and adventure. In winter, crossing one mountain peak leads you to China’s No. 1 Snow Town—Shuangfeng.

By Bus: Take a bus from Harbin to Shanhe Tun Forestry Bureau, then transfer to a minibus or hire a car from the Shanhe Tun Forestry Bureau passenger station to Dongsheng Forest Farm.

By Car: From Harbin, take the Suiman Expressway, drive 141.3 km, exit at Yimianpo, turn right onto X153 Highway, drive 41.6 km, then turn right onto X155 Highway, drive 22.5 km, turn left onto X164 Highway, and continue along X164 for 21.8 km to reach the destination.
