Harbin Jinyuan Cultural Tourism Area

The Harbin Jinyuan Cultural Tourism Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national key cultural relics protection unit.

The Harbin Acheng Jinyuan Cultural Tourism Area is located 2 kilometers south of downtown Acheng. As a national key cultural relics protection unit, it was the capital of the Jin Dynasty from 1115 to 1234, and is the only well-preserved Jin Dynasty capital site to date. To this day, the Meridian Gate of the Imperial City and the ruins of the palace buildings remain intact, as do parts of the outer city wall, barbican, battlements, corner towers, and moat.

Acheng is a historic city with profound cultural heritage. In 1115, Wanyan Aguda, leader of the Jurchen people, established the powerful Jin Empire here. Over the course of 38 years, under four emperors — Emperor Taizu, Emperor Taizong, Emperor Xizong, and Emperor Hailing — it served as the largest city in Northeast Asia during the 12th century and the political, economic, military, and cultural center of the region. Many figures and events that significantly influenced China’s historical development emerged here, leaving behind invaluable cultural relics. The splendid Jinyuan Culture is an important source of the ethnic culture of the Black Soil region and a treasured gem of Chinese national culture. It has become a unique tributary in the long river of Chinese civilization and has endowed the planned Jinyuan Cultural Tourism Area with rich historical and cultural significance. Exhibition on the Joint Tomb of King Wanyan Yanhui of the Jin Dynasty — the “Marquis of Mausoleum of the Northern Frontier”; 4. Special Exhibition on Bronze Mirrors; 5. Exhibition of Selected Treasures from the Museum Collection; 6. Exhibition of Calligraphy and Paintings from the Museum Collection; 7. Exhibition of Modern Craftworks, Plaques, and Calligraphy; 8. The Imperial City Ruins.
