Pingshan Hunting Ground is located in Pingshan Town, southeast of Acheng District, Heilongjiang Province, 70 kilometers from Harbin. The Harbin–Yabuli Expressway runs through the area. It serves as both a hunting and wildlife viewing tourism base, as well as the largest wildlife breeding base and rare medicinal herb production center in Northeast China. The site includes the Deer Park Scenic Area, Bird Garden, Fishing Zone, camping resort, restaurant, nightclub, and other facilities.

Centered around the Pingshan grounds, 20 kilometers to the west lies the Yuquan Hunting Ground, 40 kilometers west is the Jindu Historical Site, 30 kilometers northwest is the Hongxing Reservoir, 17 kilometers northeast is Songfeng Mountain, to the east is the Yabuli Ski Resort, and 15 kilometers south is the Xiquan Reservoir. Together, they form a "Golden Triangle" tourist region serving Harbin, Acheng, Shangzhi, Binxian, and Wuchang.

Pingshan Hunting Ground covers an area of 343,000,000 square meters. Its enclosed semi-free-range deer enclosure spans 46,400,000 square meters, making it the largest sika deer and red deer breeding center in Northeast China. It currently houses 650 sika deer and 100 red deer, along with small ornamental animals such as pheasants, hazel grouse, ferret-badgers, foxes, squirrels, and weasels. Scenic spots within the enclosure include the Sky-Reach Tower, Deer Park Pavilion, Mushroom Pavilion, Deer Park Tower, Sky-Reach Peak, Steamed Bun Mountain, Deer Park Ridge, Deer Park Lake, and activities such as wildlife viewing, hiking, picnicking, and camping.

The Pingshan Hunting Ground Resort covers 800 square meters, built with brick and tile structures, offering 80 beds with mid-to-low-range guest rooms, a small conference room, and facilities such as washrooms, showers, and toilets. The building also houses a convenience store and exhibition rooms for deer products and medicinal herbs for visitors to purchase souvenirs. Nightclub: Built area of 180 square meters, featuring dining, sound systems, dance floors, and karaoke. Restaurant: Built area of 200 square meters, offering high-, mid-, and low-range dining services, karaoke, and seating for 100 guests. Fish Pond: Built area of 150,000 square meters, available for fishing with rental fishing gear provided by the tour company. Bird Garden: Built area of 100 square meters, home to over 10 species of birds for visitors to observe.

Rare medicinal products produced at Pingshan Hunting Ground include: Deer Antler Wine, Deer Placenta Paste, Ginseng-Deer Paste, Deer Antler Slices, Sika Deer Antler, Red Deer Antler, and Sika Deer Velvet.

Pingshan Town is situated in the southeastern part of Acheng District, on the upper reaches of the Ashi River. It is a typical mountainous township surrounded by peaks and a flat valley, described as "seven mountains, two waters, half fields, and half roads and farmland." To the east, it borders Ma'ershan Town of Shangzhi City; to the west, it neighbors Xiaoling Town; to the south, it faces Erdaohexi of Wuchang City across the water; to the north, it is close to Songfengshan Town and Binxian County. The Hesui Highway, Binshui Railway, and National Highway 301 run through the town. The Maoxi River and Xidao River, originating from Ma'ershan and Songfengshan, flow through five villages before emptying into the Xiquan Reservoir in Harbin. Pingshan Town covers a total area of 188.8 square kilometers, with six administrative villages, 52 natural hamlets, two streets, seven neighborhood committees, 16 enterprises and institutions, and a diverse population including Han, Manchu, Hui, and Korean ethnic groups, totaling 6,244 households and 26,000 people.

Pingshan Town: Located 75 kilometers from Harbin, Pingshan Town is a gateway in the southeast of Acheng District, bordering Binxian, Wuchang, and Shangzhi.
