Hengtoushan National Forest Park is a national-level forest park.

Hengtoushan National Forest Park was established in 2007 by the State Forestry Administration and renamed Jinlongshan National Forest Park in July 2011. It is situated within the birthplace of the Jin Dynasty, 59 kilometers southeast of downtown Harbin, in the jurisdictions of Jixing Forest Farm in Dalin Township and Zhonghe Forest Farm in Songfengshan Town, under the management of the Acheng District Forestry Bureau. The main peak of Hengtoushan stands at an elevation of 826 meters, making it the highest peak in Harbin. The park covers a total area of 130,000 mu. It serves as the backyard garden of Harbin and is a hub for wellness, leisure, summer retreats, and vacations—an authentic natural oxygen bar.

The park boasts three major advantages—"resources, environment, and location"—and four key cultural elements: "Jinyuan culture, forest, geology, and wellness." It features six major scenic areas: Hengtoushan – virgin forest (red leaves), Junwang Mountain – volcanic rock formations (Olive Mountain Church), Diaoshuihu – geological wonders (Little Huangshan of the North), Jiulong Mountain – Jinyuan culture (cliff carvings), Wushuling – mysterious caves (Heling culture), and Songfeng Mountain – Taoist culture (Tai Xu Cave). There are also ten major attractions: red leaves, azaleas, ancient trees, unique rocks, streams, cultural relics, sea of clouds, sunrise, pine waves, and snowscapes.

The park is dominated by forest landscapes, framed by rugged mountain cliffs and crisscrossed by clear springs and streams, dotted with historical sites and cultural elements, creating uniquely beautiful scenery featuring “majestic mountains, peculiar rocks, ancient trees, cultural relics, mountain springs, flora, and fauna.” Within the park, there is a 21-kilometer network of cement roads, along with the serpentine "Mountain Path with Eighteen Bends" wooden boardwalk and the adventurous "Eight-Li Stream" trail. The area is rich in wild medicinal plants, flowers, shrubs, and other vegetation. The park offers a fresh and elegant environment, unique natural landscapes, and ever-changing scenes from dawn to dusk. Spring brings pristine mountains and clear waters, with shimmering lakes and picturesque hills; summer greets visitors with shaded greenery and vibrant blooms; autumn displays a riot of colorful foliage and the fragrance of wild fruits; and winter enchants with a world of silver snow and pine trees weighed down by white. A visit to Hengtoushan gives one a sense of primitive mystery and a return to nature. Wandering through its landscapes feels like stepping into a heavenly paradise...

Hengtoushan National Forest Park forms a circular tourist route together with Songfeng Mountain, Hongxing Reservoir, Harbin Zoo, and the Jin Shangjing Museum. Hengtoushan is the central link in this chain. In December 2008, Hengtoushan National Forest Park was designated as a provincial geopark and is currently being upgraded to a national level. In 2009, it was rated as a National AAA-level Tourist Attraction and a Provincial Scenic Area. In October of the same year, it was listed among the twelve key tourist destinations for development and construction in the province, and recognized as part of Heilongjiang Province’s “Ten Plus Two” Famous Tourism Towns. In 2010, it was selected as “One of the Most Worth-Visiting Places in Heilongjiang Province.” It is the best choice for wellness, leisure, summer retreats, and vacations—an authentic natural oxygen bar and the backyard garden of Harbin.
