Xiquan Reservoir

Xiquan Reservoir is located 84 kilometers southeast of Acheng City, at the junction of Shangzhi City, Wuchang City, and Acheng. It is formed by the confluence of Dongquan Eye, Banjie River, Nanda River, Beida River, as well as numerous mountain streams and springs. The lake covers an area of 40.86 square kilometers, with a water storage capacity of 478 million cubic meters, making Xiquan Reservoir one of the largest reservoirs in Heilongjiang Province. The spring water is crystal clear and unpolluted, serving as the essential life source and daily water supply for local villagers and forestry workers.

Xiquan Lake boasts vast waters with rippling waves, surrounded by mountains on all sides. The interplay of shimmering lake and rolling hills creates a picturesque scene, making it not only an ideal destination for sightseeing but also a haven during bird migration seasons. Countless ducks, geese, and waders can be seen frolicking and foraging on the lake’s surface. The expansive waters and abundant aquatic life also provide a perfect habitat for gulls and other waterfowl, which freely soar above the lake and occasionally dive to catch food. Meanwhile, herons dwelling along the lakeshore, riversides, or marshlands stand quietly among the grass, patiently waiting to catch fish. The lake is rich in aquatic resources, with dozens of fish species alone, ranging from tens of kilograms-heavy carp and silver carp to tiny shrimp weighing just a few dozen grams. The surrounding mountain streams are great spots for fishing enthusiasts and also serve as ideal places for nature lovers to appreciate the great outdoors and nourish their spirits.
