Daqing City Forest Park

The forested area of Daqing City Forest spans from Zhongxing Street in the east to Dongfeng Lake in the west, borders Century Avenue to the south, and connects to Zhongsan Road in the north. The first phase of the project was implemented in April 2003. The scenic area was designed based on the principle of “building hills on high ground and creating lakes in low-lying areas,” striving to preserve the original terrain and landscape, with an emphasis on a rich variety of plants. The second phase began in May 2006, was completed in September 2007, and opened to the public.

The City Forest covers a total area of 75 hectares and includes over ten attractions such as the Daqing Martyrs Monument, Guocheng Temple, and Puxin Lake. Since 2003, extensive management and improvement efforts have been carried out on the woodland and surrounding environment. In addition to the 3,500 existing elm trees, more than 40 species totaling over 140,000 trees including Chinese elm, weeping willow, Scots pine, and spruce have been planted. This has further enhanced the ecological environment and air quality of the area. At the same time, serving as a research base, it is officially named the City Forest and stands as a model of collaboration between government and enterprises in Daqing to build a better home together.
