Daqing Guangjiao Temple

Daqing Guangjiao Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Daqing Guangjiao Temple was constructed on the initiative of the Daqing Buddhist Association to better serve local worshippers in the Datong District and promote Buddhist teachings. The project is located east of Sadalu Road in Gaotaizi Town and was funded through public donations.

The temple has a total investment of 20 million yuan, and construction is carried out in three phases, covering a total area of 50,000 square meters with a built-up area of 5,000 square meters. It is expected to be fully completed by 2010. Upon completion, visitors will be able to see structures such as the Mahavira Hall, monks’ quarters, and living areas, along with supporting facilities including a stupa, pagoda, Heavenly King Hall, guest hall, and dining hall. The overall architectural style adopts classical Ming and Qing designs, blending ancient and modern elements. The buildings are bright, solemn, dignified, tranquil, and peaceful, combining quiet observation with active participation, merging Buddhism with tourism to promote Buddhist culture and develop tourism economy.

The temple fills a gap in religious and architectural culture in the Datong District. To strengthen management and better propagate Buddhist teachings, Master Fahui from Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province was invited to preside over the temple. He oversees the temple and surrounding Buddhist followers, delivers sermons, prints scriptures extensively, and organizes events such as Buddhist ceremonies, animal release, disaster relief, and poverty alleviation. These efforts contribute to social harmony and stability, help ensure people's well-being, and further align with the development of a harmonious, stable, and civilized society.

Location: East side of Sadalu Road, Gaotaizi Town, Datong District, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province

Transportation: Take bus No. 102 within Daqing City and get off at Gaotaizi Station. Then transfer to bus No. 101 and get off at Wang Taishengtun. Walk 1.3 km to reach the temple.

Driving route: From Daqing, head toward Datong on the Daguang Expressway. Drive 56.5 km, then exit at Datong. Continue straight for 6.1 km, turn left and drive 4.1 km, then turn right and drive 1.8 km. Turn right onto Sadalu South Road and drive 4.9 km, then turn right and drive 280 m to reach the destination.
