The Museum of Chinese in America History serves as a base for patriotic education.

The Museum of Chinese in America History is a public welfare institution directly under the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC), and it is also the first national-level thematic museum to comprehensively showcase the history and current status of Chinese overseas migration. In 1960, Mr. Tan Kah Kee, a renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader and the first president of the ACFROC, proposed the establishment of the Museum of Chinese in America History in the capital city of Beijing. In September 2011, the museum’s foundation was laid; it was completed in October 2014 and fully opened to the public on October 21, 2015. The building covers a construction area of 12,765 square meters and houses seven exhibition halls and one lecture hall. Currently, the museum has a collection of nearly 20,000 items (sets), the vast majority of which were donated free of charge by overseas and domestic Chinese, returned overseas Chinese, their relatives, and enthusiastic individuals.

The permanent exhibition of the Museum of Chinese in America History is divided into four halls, displaying the historical changes and social life of Chinese overseas migration, the history of overseas Chinese in pioneering, entrepreneurship, and contributions around the world, the support provided by overseas Chinese for China's revolution and construction in modern times, and the development and evolution of China's overseas Chinese affairs institutions. In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the museum also hosts various thematic exhibitions and lectures from time to time, providing the public with multi-perspective, multi-layered, and multi-form cultural services.

The educational mission of the Museum of Chinese in America History is “Overseas Chinese everywhere, culture everywhere, serving overseas Chinese, serving society, and serving the country.” As a patriotic education base in Dongcheng District, the museum will continue to leverage its public education functions and effectively carry out patriotic education for the general public.
