The Tonghua Winery Company was founded in 1937, located in the northeastern part of downtown Tonghua on the alluvial plain east of the Hun River. To the east is the railway and highway leading to Tonghua, as well as the Choushui River drainage outside the gate; to the south is Tonghua Railway Station; to the west lies Zian Mountain City across the river; and to the north is the Dongchang District Industrial Park. It covers an area of 90,000 square meters and houses the world’s largest underground cellar for storing mountain grape base wine, spanning 10,430 square meters, with 772 oak wine barrels.

In May 2013, the State Council (State Council Document [2013] No. 13) designated the Underground Wine Cellar of Tonghua Winery Co., Ltd. as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
