Historical Background: Due to historical reasons, Changbai Mountain has become the last habitat of ginseng and is currently the only major production area of ginseng in China. To revitalize the ginseng industry, Jilin Laoshentang Technology Development Co., Ltd. decided to invest heavily in establishing the Jilin Changbai Mountain Ginseng Museum, using the influence of ginseng culture to boost the industry’s revival. In March 2009, the Jilin Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau approved the establishment of the museum. Construction began in June 2009, and the museum was completed and opened on September 4, 2012. The establishment of the Jilin Changbai Mountain Ginseng Museum received strong support from the Jilin Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, the Jilin Ginseng Chamber of Commerce, the Tonghua Municipal Government, the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Municipal Culture Bureau, and the Municipal Tourism Bureau.
